Our hobby farm started back in 2007 with the goal of raising our children around four legged friends. We wanted something different and had connections in eastern Montana with friends who raised "fainting goats" and thought "Why not?". We started that year with "Cody and Dolly". By the next spring we were looking to add one more, that's when "Brown Eyes and Daisy" showed up on a two for one sale. We have begun to bring in more bloodlines to diversify our herd.
We are nestled in Flathead Valley in the town of Kalispell, Montana. Our farm is an easy fifteen minutes from the beautiful Glacier National Park.
Having been raised in town, living on a farm is a new adventure for me. My husband however was raised on the farm and thought it would be easy to convince me that farming some land, buying a piece of equipment, and an animal or two would be fairly easy. Little did he know that I would want the whole experience. My husband has come to tolerate all the animals that we have while I live my country dream. As long as we don't count the number of heads--all is good!
Myotonics are a unique animal in this valley. We are still creating a name for ourselves and educating many folks a long the way on the finer qualities of the Myotonic. Myotonics have many purposes whether it is for quality meat, 4H show projects, or pets we have experienced them all. As a family, we are involved in FFA, 4H and many school and travel sports. Through the two organizations we find that community service is important to teach our children. The girls have educated children all the way to geriatrics through school live presentations and goat visits to the local nursing home and assisted living facilities.
We are proud members for the Myotonic Goat Registry and the Northwest Montana Goat Association.
